Phillies set to 'Paint the Town Red'
Festivities announced for week prior to Opening Day
The Phillies announced their "Paint the Town Red" festivities for Monday through April 5.
The Phillies blood drive is Tuesday from 2-7 p.m. ET at Citizens Bank Park, although all public donor slots have been filled.
The Food Drive for Philabundance, with partners Citizens Bank and The Philadelphia Inquirer, will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on April 1 at Citizens Bank Park, and the 15th and Market Street Branch of Citizens Bank. Donors receive a discount ticket for a Phillies game.
"Pup Rally" for Pennsylvania SPCA, with partner The Friends of Rittenhouse Square will be held from 5-7 p.m. on April 2 at Rittenhouse Square. The Red Phanatic, Phillies broadcasters and Phillies ball girls will help raise funds and awareness for the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Fans are asked to donate blankets and toys. Cash donations will also be accepted. Cats and dogs will be available to adopt, and there will be a raffle. Donors will also receive a discount ticket to a game.
McFadden's Season Kick-Off Party will be held at McFadden's at the ballpark beginning at 7 p.m. on April 2. Gary Matthews, Tom McCarty and Mitch Williams will serve as celebrity bartenders. Mr. Greengenes plays at 9 p.m.
Fans receive a schedule magnet on April 4 during the exhibition game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
There are other events as well -- the Cira Centre will feature the Phillies' "P" throughout the week, and Boathouse Row will also be in red beginning April 2.
