Major League Baseball announced Monday that Chris Guccione has been promoted to the full-time Major League umpiring staff.
The 34-year-old native of Colorado has worked Major League Spring Training and has been a callup umpire at the Major League level since the 2000 season. Guccione will be a member of Ed Montague's crew, alongside Jerry Layne and Tony Randazzo, and will wear uniform No. 68.
Guccione has 14 years of professional umpiring experience, having worked in the Pioneer League (Rookie), the Midwest League (Class A), the California League (Class A), the Texas League (Double-A) and the Pacific Coast League (Triple-A).
