MINNEAPOLIS -- Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett exited Wednesday's game against the Twins with left hamstring tightness.

Bartlett grounded out to lead off the top of the fifth inning, and he was replaced in the field in the bottom half of that inning. Ben Zobrist moved from right field to shortstop, while Gabe Gross entered the game at right field.

"When I dove there at first base, I felt it a little bit," Bartlett said. "And then gradually it just started grabbing a tiny bit. Nothing serious -- got out of the game, got some treatment. I should be good to go for [Thursday]."

The Rays were trailing, 8-1, when the decision was made to remove Bartlett from the game.

"I've had problems with it in the past, but it's not that serious," he said. "With the game going like it was, we just took precautionary [measures], got out of there and got some treatment."
