Another Flacco heading to Baltimore

Orioles draft younger brother of Ravens' quarterback

06/11/09 5:05 PM ET

BALTIMORE -- Let the sibling rivalry begin.

With their first pick on Day 3 of the 2009 First Year Player Draft, the Orioles drafted third baseman Mike Flacco, younger brother to Baltimore Ravens starting quarterback Joe Flacco.

Flacco was drafted in the 31st round out of the Community College of Baltimore County. The freshman led the team with a .372 batting average in 2009, hitting nine home runs and collecting 33 RBIs.

He was also named to the 2009 All-Maryland JuCo first team, and the 2009 NJCAA All-American third team. Flacco was one of 12 junior college players drafted by the Orioles, and one of two third basemen selected in the team's Draft.

Physically, Mike Flacco is built similar to his older brother. He stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 215 pounds, while Joe is 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds.
