Rays activate Bartlett from 15-day DL
Brignac optioned to Durham to make room for shortstop
ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays have activated shortstop Jason Bartlett from the 15-day disabled list, and he will accompany the team when it departs for Colorado on Monday afternoon.
To make room on the team's 25-man roster, shortstop Reid Brignac was optioned back to Triple-A Durham.
Bartlett, who is hitting .373 for the Rays this season, has missed 19 games since sustaining a left ankle sprain on June 10. He played for Class A Charlotte on Sunday, getting two hits in four at-bats, including a triple. In three games for the Stone Crabs, Bartlett hit .455.
Brignac hit .271 in 21 games for the Rays. He collected a career-high three hits Saturday night, and until Sunday, he had hit safely in every game on the homestand.
