Two Cubs Minor Leaguers suspended
Dominican Summer League players banned for 50 games
Cubs Minor Leaguers Ericdervid Martinez and Gregorio Robles have received 50-game suspensions after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, the Commissioner's Office announced on Thursday.
Martinez, a right-handed pitcher, tested positive for metabolites of Stanozolol. Robles, an outfielder, tested positive for metabolites of Boldenone and Clomiphene.
The suspensions of both players are effective immediately. Both are members of the organization's Dominican Summer League team.
