ALDS, NLDS umpire crews announced

Davis, DeMuth, Tschida and West to serve as chiefs

Major League Baseball on Monday revealed its umpire assignments for the American League and National League Division Series.

The four crew chiefs will be Gerry Davis, Dana DeMuth, Tim Tschida and Joe West.

A 26-year veteran as a Major League umpire, DeMuth will head the NLDS between the Dodgers and Cardinals, which begins on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The crew will also include Brian O'Nora, Mike Everitt, Jeff Nelson, Ed Rapuano and Tony Randazzo.

Also a 26-year veteran, Davis has drawn the other NLDS games between the Rockies and Phillies that begins on Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park. On the crew with Davis are Bob Davidson, Jerry Meals, Ron Kulpa, Angel Hernandez and Tim Timmons.

West, a 32-year Major League umpire, will helm the crew for the ALDS between the Red Sox and Angels, which commence in Anaheim either Wednesday or Thursday. West's crew will include C.B. Bucknor, Eric Cooper, Greg Gibson, Brian Gorman and Dan Iassogna.

The only crew chief to not know his matchup just yet, Tschida will be in charge of the ALDS games between the Yankees vs. either the Twins or Tigers. The opener will be at Yankee Stadium on either Wednesday or Thursday. With 24 years of service, Tschida will be joined by Chuck Meriwether, Mark Wegner, Paul Emmel, Jim Joyce and Phil Cuzzi.
