Moyer in hospital with blood infection
Phillies GM Amaro: 'We don't think it's anything serious'
DENVER -- Phillies left-hander Jamie Moyer has been in the hospital since Wednesday with a blood infection, general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said.
"We don't think it's anything serious," Amaro said. "We think he's fine. He's on antibiotics right now."
Moyer could stay at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia one more night, Amaro said. Moyer had surgery last Friday to repair torn tendons in his left groin and lower abdomen.
Moyer went 12-10 with a 4.94 ERA in 30 appearances (25 starts) this season.
