Reynolds earns SN All-Star nod

D-backs third baseman Mark Reynolds was named to Sporting News' National League All-Star team on Thursday, the first time in his three-year career that he has been selected.Reynolds, 26, batted. 260 with 44 home runs, 102 RBIs and 24 stolen bases, and also improved defensively during the 2009 season. He played in 150 games.
Reynolds' home run total was fourth-best in the NL.
Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, Phillies second baseman Chase Utley and Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun were on the ballots of all 14 NL team executives who participated in the voting.
Also named to the squad were Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina, Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez, Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp and Phillies outfielder Jayson Werth.
Pujols was chosen SN's 2009 Player of the Year.
The American League team consisted of Twins catcher Joe Mauer, who received votes from all 17 participating AL executives, Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira, Blue Jays second baseman Aaron Hill, Rays third baseman Evan Longoria, Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, Red Sox outfielder Jason Bay, Angels outfielder Torii Hunter and Yankees designated hitter Hideki Matsui.
