Tickets for Redsfest are on sale

Annual Reds event scheduled for Dec. 4-5

10/30/09 5:14 PM EST

CINCINNATI -- Anyone with an itch for Reds baseball, past or present, can have it scratched at Fox Sports Redsfest. Tickets went on sale on Monday.

Presented by Kahn's, Redsfest is scheduled to be held Dec. 4-5 at the Duke Energy Center in downtown Cincinnati. Tickets can be purchased on reds.com, by phone at (513) 381-REDS, at all area Meijer stores and at the administration offices at Great American Ball Park.

More than 50 current and former Reds, including Brandon Phillips, Joey Votto, Jay Bruce, Bronson Arroyo and Dusty Baker, are expected to be on hand. The 2010 Reds Hall of Fame inductees, Chris Sabo and Pedro Borbon, will also attend.

There will be nostalgia for fans, too. Planned is a special 20th-anniversary tribute to the 1990 championship team with several of its members on hand, including former manager Lou Piniella and players Eric Davis, Joe Oliver, Sabo and Hal Morris.

All current and former players in attendance will be introduced live on stage at 6:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 4. The first 10,000 fans attending Redsfest each day will receive a free drawstring backpack and a Reds winter ski cap.

The Redsfest main stage will feature many events, including a kids-only press conference with players, the Reds Idol karaoke contest, a wing-eating contest and the Reds Hot Stove Report, which will include Baker and general manager Walt Jocketty. Local band The Rusty Griswolds are to perform on Dec. 4 from 9-11 p.m.

Among the new elements at Redsfest: Fans 16 and younger can register for a chance to take on Votto in a Sony Playstation home run contest on stage and a Goodyear area that highlights the Reds' new Spring Training home in Arizona. Tickets for 2010 Spring Training games will be on sale and tourism representatives will be available to provide more information about the team's new desert locale.

Members of the Harlem Globetrotters will available to meet fans. The Globetrotters are scheduled to play at U.S. Bank Arena on Dec. 30.

Returning are popular events including a Friday night celebrity Wiffleball contest and Saturday's annual Reds Community Fund Poker Tournament.

On Friday, Dec. 4, doors will be open from 4-11 p.m. ET and from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $7 for fans 12 and under. Two-day tickets will sell for $20 for adults and $10 for kids.

Proceeds from Redsfest benefit the Reds Community Fund.
