Blue Jays outright three to Triple-A

Catcher Phillips, pitchers Romero, Murphy sent to Las Vegas

11/06/09 5:37 PM EST

The Blue Jays adjusted their 40-man roster Friday by outrighting catcher Kyle Phillips and left-handers Davis Romero and Bill Murphy to Triple-A Las Vegas.

The 25-year-old Phillips, an eight-year Minor League veteran, broke into the Majors for the first time this year as a September callup with Toronto. He went 5-for-18 with three doubles and two RBIs following a .300 season in 76 games at Las Vegas, where he hit eight home runs with 29 RBIs in 277 at-bats for the 51s.

Murphy posted a 3.18 ERA with four hits and eight walks allowed over 11 1/3 innings in eight relief appearances for the Jays. He went 0-6 with a 7.59 ERA in 45 games at Las Vegas. Romero didn't make it to Toronto, but went 3-6 with a 5.98 ERA in 93 1/3 innings for the 51s.

The moves leave two spots open on Toronto's 40-man roster.
