Rays set to unveil new Sunday jerseys

Shields among players to show off light blue unis at Champs

ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays will wear a new light blue alternate jersey for Sunday home games during the 2010 season. The new jersey will make its debut on April 11, when the Yankees visit Tropicana Field.

Manufactured by Majestic Athletic, the new jersey will be officially released on Wednesday, when Rays players James Shields, Wade Davis, Jeff Niemann and Kelly Shoppach visit two area Champs Sports stores.

Starting Wednesday, fans may order the Rays' new alternate jersey via raysbaseball.com and raysbeisbol.com, at the Rays Pro Shop and Ticket Outlet located at 400 N. Tampa St., the Rays merchandise store at Tropicana Field and at Champs Sports stores.

Shields and Davis will be at the Champs Sports store at International Plaza in Tampa from 7-8 p.m. ET, while Niemann and Shoppach will be at the Champ Sports store at the Tyrone Mall in St. Petersburg at the same time.
