The lineups for Game 4 of the World Series are set, and the Rangers are hoping that the formula from their Game 3 victory carries over, as their lineup remained unchanged from their crucial 4-2 win at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The Giants, meanwhile, made a major change. Pat Burrell is out of the lineup, as the slugger has struck out in half of his postseason at-bats and is 0-for-9 with eight strikeouts in three World Series games.

"We tweaked it a little bit, and it's pretty much what we've been doing all year," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "If somebody is not quite seeing the ball as well, we give them a break and just put somebody else out there. We've gotten contributions from everybody, and that's what we're doing with Pat. I did talk to him today."

The top four of San Francisco's batting order remained the same -- Andres Torres, followed by Freddie Sanchez, Aubrey Huff and Buster Posey -- but Cody Ross moved up to the fifth spot in Burrell's absence and is starting in left field, with Nate Schierholtz making his first start in right field and batting ninth.

Travis Ishikawa is starting at first base and batting seventh, with Huff moving to designated hitter after serving as the first baseman in Game 3. Juan Uribe and Edgar Renteria remain at third base and shortstop, respectively, with Uribe batting fifth and Renteria batting eighth.

"I think it gives our lineup a little more balance, a couple more left-handed hitters," Bochy said. "We have a legitimate DH in Huff, who has experience doing that. It probably tightens up our defense, too, with who's out there.

"Schierholtz and Ishy are usually in there at the end of the game, so we're starting it that way. [This is] just to give Pat a chance to work on some things and try to get his timing back, and I expect to see him tomorrow out there."

The Rangers, however, didn't make a single change to their lineup, as shortstop Elvis Andrus, third baseman Michael Young and center fielder Josh Hamilton remain the top three in the order. They're followed by DH Vladimir Guerrero, left fielder Nelson Cruz, second baseman Ian Kinsler, right fielder Jeff Francoeur, catcher Bengie Molina and first baseman Mitch Moreland.

On the mound, Rangers right-hander Tommy Hunter and Giants rookie left-hander Madison Bumgarner are making their first World Series starts.
