MLB Network to count down the top 100 current MLB players
Al Leiter, Harold Reynolds and Matt Vasgersian to Reveal the Rankings Each Week in February
From rookies to Cy Young Award winners to MVPs, MLB Network will reveal its ranking of the best players in Major League Baseball with the series Top 100 Players Right Now!, premiering on Thursday, February 10 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Throughout the 2010-2011 offseason, MLB Network has ranked the top MLB players by position with the Top 10 Right Now! series and starting this week, with fantasy drafts and 2011 Spring Training around the corner, Al Leiter, Harold Reynolds and Matt Vasgersian will count down the top players overall throughout five episodes airing every Thursday in February.
Determined by MLB Network researchers and baseball journalists, the ranking takes into account players in their prime who are coming back from injuries, younger players expected to break out in 2011, and veteran players with proven track records. The ranking includes three World Series MVPs, eight Cy Young Award winners, 10 AL and NL MVPs, 14 Rookie of the Year winners, 27 Gold Glove Award winners, 32 pitchers, 51 2010 All-Stars and 62 players under 30-years old. A preview of the countdown can be viewed here.
