Phils' Schneider exits after straining hamstring
Catcher could trade spots with Ruiz on disabled list Friday
MIAMI -- Phillies catcher Brian Schneider left Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Marlins in the fifth inning when he strained his left hamstring running the bases.
Schneider suffered the injury rounding third base following a single by Cliff Lee. Schneider likely would have scored on the play, but he retreated to third after pulling up lame.
"We'll see how it is tomorrow," Schneider said.
Schneider said he expects to miss some time, which could mean a trip to the 15-day disabled list. The Phillies are expected to activate Carlos Ruiz from the disabled list before Friday's game against the Braves at Turner Field. The Phillies could swap Schneider for Ruiz on the DL.
"I can't see me playing two days from now," Schneider said.
