ANAHEIM -- The Twins announced right-hander Jim Hoey will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester prior to Friday's game against the Angels.
Hoey, 28, carried a 3.83 ERA with 21 walks and 38 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings over 33 appearances with Rochester.
The hard-throwing right-hander also appeared in 17 games with the Twins this year, posting a 7.71 ERA with eight walks and nine strikeouts over 14 innings.
Hoey is scheduled to be the first player recalled by the Twins after rosters expanded to 40 players on Thursday.
