Omaha tied Wednesday's game in the ninth, only to lose on a walk-off home run for the second straight night. The Storm Chasers trailed 2-0 entering the final frame. Anthony Seratelli drew a bases-loaded walk for the first run. Max Ramirez raced home on a wild pitch to knot the score, with Sacramento's Derek Norris hitting a 2-run shot in the home half. Starter Ryan Verdugo (7.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO) allowed a run in each of the first two innings. It was his third straight start of 7.0 innings, with his season ERA at 2.82 (12 ER in 38.1 IP).

Wilmington lost a heartbreaker as the game's only run came on a solo blast in the sixth by former Royals farmhand Tim Smith. Jason Adam (5.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO) fell to 1-4 despite lowering his ERA to 2.08 ERA (9 ER in 39.0 IP). Brian Fletcher and Angel Franco collected the lone hits for Wilmington.

The Cougars scored in the sixth, seventh and eighth to win at home. Daniel Mateo and Jin-Ho Shin each drove home a pair. Tim Ferguson went 3-for-3 with a walk, two doubles and a run. Lane Adams recorded three hits, an RBI and a run while boosting his average to .341 (42-for-123). Starter Kellen Moen scattered two runs on six hits and two walks over 6.0 innings. Michael Giovenco followed with 2.0 scoreless frames to earn the relief win while Nick Graffeo notched his seventh save.
