KANSAS CITY -- Relief pitcher Louis Coleman was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday to make room for Jonathan Sanchez's return from the disabled list
In 16 games for the Royals, the right-handed Coleman posted a 3.15 ERA, striking out 18 batters and walking 12 in 20 innings pitched.
Coleman has appeared in five games for the Storm Chasers so far this year, surrendering three runs in 9 1/3 innings.
Sanchez had been sidelined by left biceps tendinitis since allowing six runs in just three innings against the Red Sox on May 7.
