Omaha dropped a second straight as Memphis plated a pair in the 11th. Starter Everett Teaford tossed 6.0 shutout innings, holding the Redbirds to two hits and a walk. Teaford lowered his ERA with Omaha to 1.09 (4 ER in 33.0 IP). Nate Adcock allowed four runs in the seventh as a 3-0 lead slipped away. Tony Abreu doubled twice and scored three runs. He is batting .353 (12-for-34) with seven doubles and nine RBI over his last nine games.

Northwest Arkansas fell short in a bid for a four-game sweep vs. Tulsa. John Whittleman put the Naturals on top with a two-run blast in the first. Rey Navarro finished 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run. Justin Marks (5.1 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO, 2 HR) carried a shutout in the sixth before allowing five runs. Elisaul Pimentel followed with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief. The homestand continues tonight vs. Arkansas (Angels).

Wilmington opened the second half with a loss at Carolina. Brooks Pounders allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.0 innings plus three batters. Kevin David led the Blue Rocks with three hits, including a two-run homer in the ninth. Orlando Calixte was 2-for-4 in his Wilmington debut. The 20-year old shortstop hit 10 home runs in 62 games with Kane County.

Kane County enjoyed a fourth and final day off due to the Midwest League All-Star break. The Cougars are at Clinton (Mariners) tonight.

Idaho Falls lost in the club's first matchup with Grand Junction, a franchise that moved from Casper in the offseason. Ali Williams limited the Rockies to a run on three hits and two walks over 5.0 innings. Adalberto Mondesi was 2-for-5 with a run scored. He has hit safely in all four games (.389, 7-for-18).

Burlington received an outstanding start from Daniel Hernandez in a road loss. The righty retired all 15 batters while fanning five over 5.0 innings. Pulaski scored all four runs in the sixth off of Parker Bangs. Patrick Leonard went 2-for-4 with his second homer of the series. Burlington opens the home schedule tonight vs. the Elizabethton Twins.
Surprise Royals (0-1)
The Surprise Royals were off on Thursday after a season-opening loss to the Arizona Rangers on Wednesday. They play the Padres in Peoria on Friday.
