CINCINNATI -- Reds right-hander Johnny Cueto has been scratched from his scheduled start on Sunday after developing a blister on his index finger during a bullpen session on Saturday afternoon.

Fellow righty Homer Bailey will fill in for Cueto, who is now slated to start Tuesday's game, where Bailey was originally scheduled to start.

Reds manager Dusty Baker said the club swapped Bailey for Cueto instead of moving Bronson Arroyo up a day to mix up the pitching styles of the rotation.

"We wanted to separate Arroyo and [Mike] Leake because they're similar," Baker said. "Especially when you're in a stretch of 13 games in a row, you don't have a chance to flip flop anybody or skip because we don't have any off-days. We have one off-day, then we get 17 in a row. It's a very important stretch here."

Bailey is 7-6 on the season with a 4.14 ERA, and will square off with Cardinals starter Jake Westbrook, who is 7-7 with a 3.75 ERA.
