Pitcher: LHP Jesse Biddle, Clearwater. Fresh from a 7-innning, no-hit outing on Aug. 17, Biddle followed up with 7 scoreless innings in his next start last Thursday, allowing only 2 first-inning hits. He walked 2 and struck out 9. The outing extended his scoreless streak to 16 innings. The 3-0 win improved his record to 10-5 and lowered his ERA to 3.10. Ten wins are 1 shy of his career total entering the season. The 20-year-old was a first-round selection (27th overall) in 2010 out of Germantown Friends School and signed by Eric Valent. He was also named the FSL Pitcher of the Week by MiLB.com.

Player: Cameron Perkins, Williamsport. Led all Phillies Minor Leaguers with a .429 average and 12 hits in 7 games. Eight-game hitting streak ended Sunday (14-33, .424). For the month of August, he's hitting .368. Perkins has played 3B, 1B, RF and been used as a DH. After being drafted by the Phillies in the 6th round this summer out of Purdue University and signed by Nate Dion, the 6-foot-5 right-handed hitter joined the Gulf Coast League Phillies. He played five GCL games (.158) before moving up to Williamsport. In 59 games there, he's hitting .296, 1 homer, 28 RBIs. He was originally drafted by Seattle in 2009 but didn't sign.
