CHICAGO, Ill., - The St. Louis Cardinals have activated right-handed pitcher Chris Carpenter from the 60-day disabled list and have added him to the active roster.

To make room for Carpenter, the Cardinals have outrighted left-handed pitcher John Gaub to Triple-A Memphis.

Carpenter will start today for the Cardinals against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
