Houston outfielder Jimmy Paredes powered Gigantes in a nine-run, 14-hit effort, going 3-for-6 with a home run and two runs scored. Erick Almonte (Brewers) also went 3-for-5 with a pair of walks while both Marlins' No.5 prospect Marcell Ozuna and Carlos Peguero (Mariners) doubled and drove in a run. No. 14 Dodgers prospect Scott Van Slyke homered three times, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs to give the last-place Tiburones their fourth win in their last five games. The outfielder now has seven jacks in 14 games in Venezuela. Ehire Adrianza, San Francisco's No. 11 prospect, doubled twice, drove in a run and scored twice out of the leadoff spot and Dodgers infielder C.J. Retherford went 2-for-5 with a double. Angels right-hander Matt Shoemaker scattered a run on four hits without any walks and four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings for the Navegantes. Carlos Maldonado (Nationals) went 2-for-4 with a homer and former Giants catcher Eliezer Alfonzo went 3-for-4 to provide the offense for Magallanes.
