World Series Trophy Tour presented by T-Mobile takes to the road to celebrate the 2013 Major League Baseball postseason
Major League Baseball and T-Mobile will take the World Series Trophy to various cities throughout the 2013 Postseason as part of the World Series Trophy Tour presented by T-Mobile. The tour marks the first time MLB has taken the trophy on tour with fan events throughout the entire Postseason and World Series.
The tour will include special events and appearances featuring MLB legends and celebrity baseball fans. Participants include four-time World Series champion Jack Morris, 1986 New York Mets World Series champion and TBS analyst Ron Darling, 1981 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series champion Steve Garvey and additional players.
Throughout October, the trophy will make appearances at T-Mobile stores for fans to visit and take photos with in Postseason cities. More details regarding store visits will follow.
Tiffany & Co. has created the Commissioner’s Trophy since 2000. The 24-inch high trophy features 30 flags, one for each Major League Baseball team, with latitude/longitude lines symbolizing the world, and 24-karat gold vermeil stitches representing those on a baseball. Etched on the base are the words, “Presented by the Commissioner of Baseball,” along with the signature of Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig.
