Seattle Mariners Ballpark Events Manager Hired
Alisia Anderson to direct non-baseball events and hospitality at Safeco Field
Alisia Anderson, who has extensive experience in meeting planning, convention sales and special events, has joined the Seattle Mariners as the Director of Ballpark Sales and Marketing for Safeco Field.
While Safeco Field's primary purpose is hosting 81 Mariners home games each season, it is also a functional and unique space for corporate meetings and employee events, major fundraisers, concerts, graduations and weddings. Since the ballpark opened in July 1999, Safeco Field has hosted some 200 non-baseball events each year.
Anderson will focus on cultivating new business opportunities with corporate clients. "Safeco Field provides so many opportunities to 'think outside the ballroom.' My role is to understand an organization's event goals and provide experience solutions that result in a truly memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience for the attendees," said Anderson.
Safeco Field can accommodate groups ranging from 10 to 47,000 in a variety of spaces ranging from the Owners Suite, to Club lounges, restaurants, the Visitors' Clubhouse, even the field itself. Events can be combined with a game during the baseball season or be stand-alone non-game day events. Safeco Field's concessions and catering partner, Centerplate, can also create menus ranging from ballpark favorites such as hot dogs and Cracker Jack to gourmet signature dishes made from fresh, Northwest ingredients.
Anderson spent over seven years at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas (2005-2012), where she worked her way up through four positions: Business Development Sales Manager, Executive Meetings Sales Manager, National Convention Sales Manager and Special Events Sales Manager. Anderson came to Seattle in 2013, as Director of Catering and Conference Services at the Red Lion Hotel in downtown Seattle.
Anderson is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Her career in hospitality and events began at Penn State with a two-year internship in Club Seats & Suites at Beaver Stadium, the home of the Nittany Lions football team, as well as a four-year stint as a Football Recruiting Liaison.
Anderson and her husband Troy live in Kirkland, WA, with their young son Ethan.
