The Padres will bring a taste of spring training home to San Diego March 28 and 29 with a pair of exhibition games at Fowler Park on the campus of the University of San Diego.
The Padres will be hosting the Cleveland Indians in the two games, which will officially end Cactus League play for the two teams.
The Padres open the National League season Sunday (March 30) against the Dodgers at Petco Park. The game, which doubles as the opener to ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball series, starts at 5:05 p.m.
The setting for the season's final two exhibition games replicates what fans experience during a spring training visit to the Padres complex in Peoria, Ariz.
"We're thrilled to be able to provide a unique showcase of Major League baseball in an intimate college setting here in San Diego," said Padres CEO Mike Dee.
"As this is still spring training, these two games against the Indians will bring a spring training-like atmosphere to our great fans in San Diego."
Friday night's game (March 28) will start at 6:10 p.m. Saturday afternoon's game will start at 1:10 p.m. Tickets range from $20-$40 and are available at padres.com and through USD.
USD's new baseball facility opened in 2013. It has 1,700, chair-backed permanent seats with a capacity of 3,000.
