We built it, and you came in droves to vote for "Field of Dreams."

After thousands of votes over the last two weeks, the 1989 fantasy drama starring Kevin Costner as the Iowa farmer who plows under his corn to build a baseball field, was the clear -- and not surprising -- champion in's first "Movie Madness" 64-film "tournament" bracket to determine the best baseball movie of all time.

"Field of Dreams," the No. 1 seed in the "Left Field" bracket, beat Comedy representative "Major League" in the final, garnering 24.1 percent of the total final vote while "Major League" got 13 percent.

Drama section winner "The Natural" finished third with 12.1 percent of the final vote, Comedy runner-up "Bull Durham" was fourth (11.5 percent) and Left Field runner-up "The Sandlot" rounded out the Top Five (6.9 percent). Meanwhile, the clear winner of our fourth bracket, the Old School category, was "The Pride of the Yankees," but that film finished 12th overall.

We grouped the top 64 baseball films of all time into four "regions" -- Drama, Old School (older baseball movies), Comedy and Left Field (movies in which baseball is involved but is not the central focus, documentaries and movies geared toward children) -- based on the top 64 vote-getting movies in a poll we did on recently.

Each of the 16 movies in each genre bracket was seeded based on the votes from that poll, and the first round of the tournament ran just like any other single-elimination format, with the No. 1 seed playing No. 16, No. 2 vs. No. 15, and so on.

"Field of Dreams," as expected, rolled through the Left Field bracket, garnering the most first-round votes of any movie. "The Natural" dominated the Drama section similarly, outpacing second-place finisher "The Rookie."

The only minor upset was "Major League," which entered the tourney as a two-seed but knocked off favored "Bull Durham" in the first round, according to our voters. "The Pride of the Yankees" was far and away the choice for the Old School category, distancing second-place finisher "The Jackie Robinson Story."

When it came down to the Final Four, "Major League" kept its Cinderella run going by knocking off "The Natural" in a tough Comedy vs. Drama matchup, and "Field of Dreams" rolled past "The Pride of the Yankees" in the Left Field vs. Old School game.

In the end, only "Field of Dreams" could "go the distance" in Movie Madness.
