    The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club and the Colorado Rockies have announced a Player Development Contract (PDC) extension for another two years. The announcement was made today at the 2017 Baseball Winter Meetings at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida. The agreement will keep the Yard Goats and Rockies together through the 2020 season. The Rockies' organization employs all the Yard Goats players, coaches and training staff.

  • Colorado Rockies name Warren Schaeffer Hartford Yard Goats manager for 2018

    The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, announced that the Rockies have named Warren Schaeffer as manager for the 2018 season. Schaeffer comes to Hartford after managing the Class-A Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League over the past three seasons. He replaces Jerry Weinstein who managed the Yard Goats in 2017 and will remain with the Rockies organization. The rest of the 2018 Hartford Yard Goats Coaching Staff will be announced at a later date.

  • Rockies announce Spring Training schedule

    The Colorado Rockies announced their 31-game 2018 Cactus League schedule today, featuring 16 home games and three road games at the award-winning Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The 2018 Cactus League season will be the club's eighth year at the shared Spring Training facility with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land near Scottsdale.
