    The Tampa Bay Rays have signed left-handed pitcher/first baseman Brendan McKay, the No. 4 overall selection from the 2017 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

  • Rays acquire Hechavarria from Marlins for two Minor Leaguers

    The Rays have acquired shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria from the Miami Marlins for two prospects, right-handed pitcher Ethan Clark and outfielder Braxton Lee. Hechavarria remains on the Rays 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 10, with a left oblique strain. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Rays have transferred right-handed pitcher Diego Moreno (right shoulder bursitis) from the 10-day to the 60-day disabled list.

    The Tampa Bay Rays have selected left-handed pitcher/first baseman Brendan McKay from the University of Louisville with the No. 4 pick in the first round of the 2017 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

  • Craig Albernaz named manager of Short-A Hudson Valley

    The Tampa Bay Rays today announced Craig Albernaz has been named manager of Short-A Hudson Valley, replacing Tim Parenton. Hudson Valley, which plays in the New York-Penn League, opens their season on Monday, June 19 at Aberdeen, an affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.

  • Rays host White Sox and Athletics during seven-game homestand

    The Tampa Bay Rays return to Tropicana Field tomorrow for a seven-game homestand against the Chicago White Sox (June 6-8) and Oakland Athletics (June 9-11). The 2017 Rays Baseball season is presented by Tampa General Hospital.

  • Season 3 of "Rays Rookies" premieres Sunday on Fox Sports Sun

    Hosted again by Zach S. Williams and Kayla Huth, the show is designed to engage the Rays growing youth fan base, and will include baseball bloopers, trivia, top-10 plays, baseball tips, tutorials and interviews with Rays players and coaches.

  • Steven Souza Jr. creates "Home Runs for Hope" to benefit Consider the Lily

    This season, for every home run Rays outfielder Steven Souza Jr. hits, he and his wife, Mikaela, will donate $1,000 to Consider the Lily, which rescues girls from broken homes in the Philippines. Souza Jr. has 7 home runs so far this season, which brings the donated total to $7,000. The Rays Baseball Foundation will also contribute $5,000 to Consider the Lily in support of Souza Jr.'s "Home Runs for Hope" campaign.

  • Rays Host Yankees & Angels During Seven-Game Homestand

    The Tampa Bay Rays return to Tropicana Field tomorrow for a seven-game homestand against the New York Yankees (May 19-21) and Los Angeles Angels (May 22-25). The 2017 Rays Baseball season is presented by Tampa General Hospital.
