Clint Barmes of Rockies voted National League Rookie of the Month for April
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

Colorado Rockies shortstop Clint Barmes, who recorded a .410 batting average and collected 14 RBI during April, has been voted the National League Rookie of the Month.

Barmes' batting average and RBI totals led all National League rookies for the month. He also led all National League rookies with 34 hits, 53 total bases, 7 doubles and 20 runs scored. Over 21 games he compiled 4 home runs, a .639 slugging percentage, a .467 on-base percentage and two stolen bases.

Other rookies receiving votes included his Colorado teammate, Brad Hawpe (.380, 4 HR, 13 RBI); Victor Diaz (.292, 3 HR, 10 RBI) of the Mets; Jason Ellison (.457, 1 HR, 11 R) of the Giants; Yhency Brazoban (7 saves, 2.89 ERA) of the Dodgers; and Brad Halsey (2-0, 3.21 ERA, 18 SO) of the Diamondbacks.

Clint Barmes will receive a specially-designed award for being voted National League Rookie of the Month for April.
