Howard voted National League Rookie of the Month
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard, who led all N.L. rookies with 10 home runs during the month of September, has been voted National League Rookie of the Month.

The rookie left-handed slugger also led N.L. rookies with a .691 slugging percentage and tied for the lead with three triples. He finished the month with a .278 (27-97) batting average, 19 runs, six doubles and 22 RBI. Over 26 games, he put together a .346 on-base percentage and 73 total bases. Ryan connected for a home run in three consecutive games September 6-9. He led all rookies this season with 22 home runs.

Other rookies receiving votes included Garrett Atkins (.313, 4 HR, 29 RBI) and Cory Sullivan (.387, 2 HR, 10 RBI) of the Rockies; Matt Cain (2-0, 2.18 ERA, 28 SO) of the Giants; Willy Aybar (.342, 1 HR, 9 RBI) of the Dodgers; and J.J. Hardy (.305, 5 HR, 19 RBI) of the Brewers.

Ryan Howard will receive a specially-designed trophy for being voted National League Rookie of the Month for September.
