January 26, 2006 -- ALIANZA LATINA DE BÉISBOL announced today that for the first time the Caribbean World Series will have the largest distribution to fans in the U.S. and outside of the Winter League home countries in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Mexico. The Caribbean World Series, a round-robin tournament hosted by the Caribbean Confederation of Professional Baseball features the championship team from each participating country. This year the tournament will be held in Valencia and Maracay, Venezuela beginning February 2nd through February 7th.

For the first time ever, an English language broadcast will be made available to fans through the YES Network. On-air talent in Venezuela will feature former MLBer, Cookie Rojas, his son Victor Rojas, former MLBers Jim Leyritz and Billy Sample. For U.S. Spanish language fans the games will be offered on Fox Sports en Espanol. Fans around the world will have access to games on-line at the Alianza Latina de Béisbol website, www.eBeisbol.com, via live streaming video. The www.eBeisbol.com website, produced by MLB Advanced Media (MLB.com) for ALIANZA, offers news, stats, video clips, merchandise and "Player of the Week" features.

The New York City event will be held at Umbrella Bar and Lounge, with well-known salsa singer, José Alberto "El Canario." In Miami, the event will be held at Rendezvous on the Lakes, featuring El Grupo Ciclón, (recently nominated best new tropical band in the "Premio Lo Nuestro" awards), as well as Lizette Melendez.

Local newspapers and radio partners participating in the Carib Series "Nuestro Juego!" campaign are activating through an extensive advertising campaign, appearances at events, consumer sweepstakes giving away official merchandise and on-air mentions.
