The following discipline has been issued as a result of the incidents that took place during the San Francisco Giants @ Colorado Rockies games on April 22 and 23, 2006 at Coors Field in Denver, CO.
Jose Mesa of the Colorado Rockies has been suspended for four (4) games and fined an undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing a pitch at the head area of SF's Omar Vizquel during the top of the 8th inning of the game on Saturday, April 22, 2006. Unless appealed, Mesa's suspension is scheduled to begin during tonight's game. If appealed, his suspension will be held in abeyance until the appeal process is completed.
Matt Morris and Dave Righetti of the San Francisco Giants have been disciplined for their conduct during the game of Sunday, April 23, 2006. Morris has been fined an undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing at Colorado's Matt Holliday during the bottom of the 1st inning and Righetti has been fined an undisclosed amount for his inappropriate actions during the bottom of the 1st inning.
