The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that pitcher Guillermo Mota, who finished
the 2006 season as a member of the New York Mets, has been suspended for 50 games for violating Major
League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. His suspension will be effective for the
start of the 2007 season.
