The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Tampa Bay Devil Rays pitcher Juan
Salas has been suspended for 50 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance in
violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The suspension will
take effect on Tuesday for Tampa Bay's next scheduled game, when the Devil Rays play at Baltimore.
