Major League Baseball drew a record total of 8,795,939 fans to the 252 dates of Interleague Play this year, eclipsing the previous mark set last season, when 8,592,482 fans attended, and this year's average of 34,905 fans per Interleague game bettered last year's record high of 34,097 fans per game. Last year's figures had topped the previous highs from the 2001 season.

The 2007 Interleague average of 34,905 fans per game is 15.4 percent higher than the season's current intraleague average of 30,257. Since its inception in 1997, Interleague Play has drawn 13.1 percent more fans than intraleague games; Interleague Play has averaged 33,034 fans per game, compared to the intraleague average of 29,211 fans per game during the same span.

Overall this season, MLB's cumulative average attendance is 31,309 fans per game (34,877,733 fans over 1,114 dates), representing a 5.0 percent increase over the same date during the record-breaking 2006 season. MLB is on pace for its fourth consecutive year of record attendance.

The American League posted a 137-115 (.544) record in Interleague Play this season, marking the fourth straight season in which the A.L. has won the season-series and extending its all-time Interleague lead to 1,387- 1,317 (.513). A.L. Clubs collected a .281 batting average with 1,352 runs and a 4.37 ERA, compared to the N.L.'s .268 batting average, 1,172 runs and 5.01 ERA. The Detroit Tigers (.314 team batting average, 3.80 team ERA) and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (.330 team batting average, 3.72 team ERA) shared the top Interleague record at 14-4 (.778), followed by the Boston Red Sox at 12-6 (.667). The Chicago Cubs earned the N.L.'s best mark in Interleague Play, going 8-4 (.667). The New York Yankees have baseball's best all-time Interleague record at 113-79 (.589), followed by the Oakland Athletics at 113-81 (.582). The Florida Marlins have the N.L.'s best mark at 105-81 (.565).

Interleague's all-time statistical leaders include Michael Young with a .347 batting average; Derek Jeter with 254 hits; Jim Thome with 53 home runs; Manny Ramirez with 139 RBI; Mike Mussina with 20 wins; Johan Santana with a 2.27 ERA; and Mariano Rivera with 51 saves. The Interleague leaders during the 2007 season include Ichiro Suzuki with a .486 batting average and 35 hits; Ken Griffey, Jr. and Alex Rodriguez with eight home runs; Rodriguez with 23 RBI; Dan Haren and Justin Verlander with four wins; Adam Eaton with a 1.40 ERA (min.: 1.0 IP per team's games played); and Chad Cordero and J.J. Putz with seven saves.
