Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies, was recently voted the "Most Vegetarian-Friendly Ballpark in North America" by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). ARAMARK provides a full range of concessions and premium dining services at the ballpark.
"We are honored that PETA has chosen Citizens Bank Park as the top vegetarian-friendly ballpark," said Joe Giles, Phillies Director of Business Development. "We try to offer our fans a broad array of menu options including local specialties and healthy fare."
According to a PETA press release, nobody has kept pace with Citizens Bank Park in regards to vegetarian options: "The veggie dog and flame-grilled gardenburger were enough to earn Citizens Bank Park a place on the roster of last year's survey," said PETA. "But this year's addition of the Philly mock-steak sandwich - and the rave reviews it has received from vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike who pile on the grilled onions, mushrooms, peppers, and hot sauce - put the Phillies over the top. The stadium also offers vegetarian subs and wraps, tomato pizza (no cheese, please), fruit cups, salads, and, for the kids, PB&J."
"Working closely with the Phillies, we've created a ballpark menu with a wide variety of offerings to cater to the different tastes of all the fans and ultimately enhance the game-day experience," said Chrissy Flanigan, General Manager, ARAMARK, Citizens Bank Park.
Citizens Bank Park was also the recipient of the Food Network's "2007 Best Ballpark Eats Award."
