First day coverage of the 2007 Major League Baseball Division Series on TBS delivered an average 3.6 HH rating and an average of 4.54 million viewers, according to Live plus Same Day data from Nielsen Media Research.

The triple header's average audience of 4.54 million viewers - which featured the Colorado Rockies at the Philadelphia Phillies, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at the Boston Red Sox, and the Chicago Cubs at the Arizona Diamondbacks - exceeded last year's Day One triple-header coverage. In 2006, a triple-header that featured a pair of games on ESPN and a New York Yankees - Detroit Tigers primetime telecast, had an average audience of 4.48 million viewers.

Game 1 of yesterday's schedule on TBS (Colorado at Philadelphia) produced a 2.6 HH rating and 3.17 million viewers, exceeding last year's Game 1 audience on ESPN by 78 percent.

The second game yesterday - the Angels at Boston - recorded a 4.3 HH rating and an average of 5.46 million viewers. The 5.46 million viewers represents the most watched telecast on all of ad-supported cable for the day. The game's viewership represents a 115 percent increase over last year's Game 2 broadcast.

The two pre-primetime Division Series windows on TBS yesterday averaged 4.26 million viewers, marking a 94 percent year-to-year increase over the two Division Series windows on ESPN during the first day of coverage last year.

The final game of yesterday's Division Series coverage on TBS, which featured the Chicago Cubs visiting the Arizona Diamondbacks, produced a 4.0 HH rating and an average audience of 5.13 million viewers.

From 8-11 p.m., TBS averaged a 4.1 HH rating and 5.19 million viewers which made it easily the most-watched network on cable television for the night in primetime.
