DALLAS -- The Texas Rangers and the Dallas Stars, in conjunction with Mix 102.9, will launch the 2008 Jingle Jet to the "North Pole" on Thursday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Five local families will board the new Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars Boeing 757 and be taxied to a hanger decorated like the North Pole. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be waiting inside as each family is presented with their own Christmas tree, gifts and holiday trimmings.

Texas Rangers pitcher John Rheinecker and his wife Janeen, as well as the Rangers Ball Girls and Dallas Stars Ice Girls will also be on-site at event to greet the families beginning at 11 a.m.

The families chosen for this experience were nominated by family members and friends who sent submissions to The Morning Mix with Tony Zazza and Victoria Snee.

Other sponsors for the Jingle Jet include Wal-Mart, Calloway's Nursery, Build a Bear Workshop, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon and Spa, Café Brazil and Paradigm Air.
