Final All-Star rosters
More than 110 of baseball's greatest current and retired players will star in the fourth annual All-Star Game Red Carpet Parade presented by Chevy on Tuesday, July 15th from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., before the 79th Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium.
Sixty-four of the game's current greats including Yankee hometown heroes Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and Mariano Rivera will be joined for the first time by 49 Hall of Famers scheduled to attend including Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Rich "Goose" Gossage, and Reggie Jackson on the red carpet in flatbed Chevy vehicles.
The All-Star Game Red Carpet Parade, which will start at 40th Street and Sixth Avenue and end at 58th Street and Sixth Avenue, is expected to draw approximately 1 million fans on the streets and from office buildings along the route. New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will participate in the parade with a group of local Boys & Girls Clubs baseball players from the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx.
Fox will air the All-Star Game Red Carpet Parade presented by Chevy nationally at 7 p.m. (EDT) preceding the 79th MLB All-Star Game, which will be played in the final year of Yankee Stadium. The show will be hosted by FOX Sports Net's Chris Rose and will feature player and celebrity interviews and other special guests.
As part of All-Star Summer, MLB will be conducting the greenest event in its history by partnering with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) to take a series of measures to limit the event's carbon emissions and be more environmentally-friendly. For the All-Star Game Red Carpet Parade presented by Chevy, the players will be traveling on a red carpet made from 100 percent recycled fiber and produced by 100 percent renewable wind and solar electricity. Chevy will be providing Flex-Fuel Chevy Silverado vehicles for the players and their families.
Additionally, an all-star team of fashion and beauty experts have signed on to dress a group of players' wives exclusively for the Red Carpet Parade. Fashion house Nicole Miller and The Worth Collection will provide dresses and parade attire, and celebrity make-up artist Bobbi Brown will be on-site prior to the parade for beauty treatment and application.
