Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers has been named the Sharp Presents the National League Player of the Month for July.

The right-handed hitting slugger batted .366 (37-for-101), with six doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 23 RBI, 16 runs scored and a .752 slugging percentage in July. The 24-year-old Braun homered in three consecutive games on July 26th and 27th vs. Houston, and on July 28th vs. the Cubs. The University of Miami (FL) product recorded consecutive four-hit games at St. Louis on July 23rd and 24th, becoming the fifth player in Brewers history to accomplish that feat. Ryan, the fifth overall selection in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, posted 10 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games. On July 20th at San Francisco, the 2007 N.L. Rookie of the Year collected a career-best five RBI in the 7-4 win over the Giants. On July 24th at St. Louis, Braun connected on a go-ahead, ninth inning, two-run homer, lifting the Brewers to a 4-3 victory over the Cardinals. The California native started in his first All-Star Game on July 15th at Yankee Stadium, leading all N.L. outfielders in fan voting. This marks the second consecutive July that Ryan has won monthly honors. Teammate CC Sabathia has earned Pitcher of the Month honors, making the Brewers the first team to win both monthly awards since Jose Reyes and John Maine of the New York Mets won in April 2007.

Other players receiving votes were Carlos Delgado (.357, 9 HR, 24 RBI) of the New York Mets; Adam Dunn (.310, 12 HR, 26 RBI) of the Cincinnati Reds; Matt Holliday (.370, 8 HR, 24 RBI) of the Colorado Rockies; Ryan Howard (.311, 10 HR, 27 RBI) of the Philadelphia Phillies; Adam LaRoche (.390, 7 HR, 18 RBI) of the Pittsburgh Pirates; Albert Pujols (.347, 4 HR, 20 RBI) of the St. Louis Cardinals; and Carlos Lee (.371, 6 HR, 25 RBI) of the Houston Astros.

For setting the highest definition of excellence, Sharp, the presenting sponsor of the National League Player of the Month Award, presents Ryan Braun with a 52" AQUOS®. Sharp AQUOS is the "Official High-Definition Television of Major League Baseball." Ryan also will receive a specially designed trophy to mark his achievement.
