HOUSTON -- The San Francisco Giants have signed outfielder Roger Kieschnick, their third pick and the 82nd overall selection in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, the club announced today. The Giants have come to terms with 28 players from this year's Draft, including 25 of their first 31 selections.

Kieschnick, a 6-3, 215-pound outfielder out of Texas Tech University, posted a .305 average (67-220) with 47 runs, 15 doubles, three triples, 17 home runs and 65 RBI in 55 games with the Red Raiders this season. Rated the top position player in Texas by Baseball America, the 2007 All-Big 12 Conference performer led Team USA with seven home runs last summer. Kieschnick is a nephew of former Major Leaguer and University of Texas star Brooks Kieschnick.
