Washington Nationals introduce new menu concepts at Nationals Park
Teddy's Barbeque and The Kosher Grill To Open During Weekend Series vs. Toronto
The Washington Nationals will introduce two new concession stands at Nationals Park during the upcoming homestand beginning on Friday, June 19 vs. the Toronto Blue Jays. The team will debut a Carolina-style barbeque option at Teddy's Barbeque, located adjacent to the Nats Family Fun Area on Friday evening. The Kosher Grill, operated by Max's Kosher Cafe, will open on Sunday, June 21, on the Main Concourse behind Section 143.
Teddy's Barbeque, operated by Levy Restaurants, will serve authentic Carolina-style barbeque including a beef brisket sandwich, BBQ pulled pork sandwich and pulled chicken sandwich. The stand will feature the newest signature item at Nationals Park, The Rough Rider Rib. The jumbo beef short rib is brined for 12 hours in true Carolina fashion, sealing in all the flavors of the meat. The dish is then slow-smoked for an additional 12 hours to further enhance its flavor. All sandwiches will be served with a choice of tangy Southern Slaw, baked beans or homemade potato salad. The stand will also serve smoked whole corn on the husk and authentic southern-style Sweet Tea.
"We are pleased to introduce new menu options at Nationals Park as we continue to improve our selection and offer something for every appetite," commented Nationals President Stan Kasten. "Teddy's Barbeque and The Kosher Grill increase the ballpark's already extensive menu and we believe they will become fan favorites instantly."
The long-awaited opening of the Nationals Park Kosher Stand will occur on Sunday, June 21 with the debut of The Kosher Grill, operated by local vendor Max's Kosher Cafe in conjunction with Levy Restaurants. Located in Wheaton, Maryland, Max's has been serving the Kosher community since 1994 and is a glatt kosher restaurant under the supervision of the Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington. The Kosher Grill will serve Kosher hot dogs, sausage, falafel, knishes and schawarma, Sundays through Thursdays at all Nationals home games.
The Nationals return home for a six-game homestand on Friday, June 19 for series against the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox. Individual game tickets and parking are currently on sale for all Nationals games in 2009 through the Nationals Park Box Office, located at Half & N Street, SE; by visiting nationals.com; or calling 888.632.NATS(6287).
