Nolan Reimold of the Baltimore Orioles Voted Winner of the Gillette Presents American League Rookie of the Month Award for June

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Nolan Reimold has been voted the June recipient of the Gillette presents American League Rookie of the Month Award.
Reimold batted .320 (24-75) in 26 games during the month with while leading all A.L. rookies with four home runs. The 25-year-old added three doubles, nine RBI, 13 runs scored and 13 walks while posting a .520 slugging percentage and a .420 on-base percentage. The Greenville, Pennsylvania native collected six multi-hit games, including three career-best three-hit performances, and three multi-RBI games. In a three-game set against the Washington Nationals from June 26
th-28th, Nolan went 4-for-10 with a home run and three RBI as he helped the Orioles take two of three from Washington. Reimold, a product of Bowling Green, closed the month with a 3-for-5 performance with two runs scored against the A.L. East rival Boston Red Sox. Reimold reached base safely in 30 of 72 plate appearances from June 9th-30th, and reached safely in 35 of his last 42 games. Through June, Nolan leads all A.L. rookies in batting average (.296), home runs (9), RBI (20), slugging percentage (.533) and on-base percentage (.375), and is in the top-10 among rookies in extra-base hits (14, 3rd), total bases (72, 3rd), hits (40, 4th) and multi-hit games (9, 4th).
Other rookies receiving votes included Reimold's teammate, right-handed pitcher Brad Bergesen (3-0, 2.23 ERA, 36.1 IP, 19 SO), and left-handed pitcher Ricky Romero (3-1, 2.36 ERA, 34.1 IP, 33 SO) of the Toronto Blue Jays.
