Atlanta Braves infielder Martin Prado, who led the National League with 15 hits and a 1.000 slugging percentage, has been named National League Player of the Week presented by Bank of America for the period ending July 5th. Bank of America is the Official Bank of Major League Baseball and the only place where you can get your favorite Club logo on checks, check cards or credit cards. Prado paced the National League with eight doubles and 26 total bases, tied for first in the NL with eight runs scored and ranked second with a .577 batting average and a .621 on-base percentage. The 25-year-old recorded two four-hit games, which included a game-tying double and a game-winning, 10th-inning single among his four hits on June 30 vs. Philadelphia, and a 4-for-4 effort on July 5th at Washington. His four hits and four RBI on June 30th were both career-highs. On July 3rd at Washington, the native of Maracay, Venezuela scored a career-high tying three runs. Martin hit safely in all six games played and finished with four multi-hit games and two multi-RBI efforts. This marks Martin's first career weekly award.
