Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier, who led the Majors in batting average, slugging percentage and on-base percentage last week, has been named National League Player of the Week presented by Bank of America for the period ending July 26th. Bank of America is the Official Bank of Major League Baseball and the only place where you can get your favorite Club logo on checks, check cards or credit cards. For more information on MLB® banking, visit bankofamerica.com/MLB.

In six games last week, Ethier hit a Major League-best .545 (12-22) with two home runs, six RBI and 23 total bases. The 27-year-old also led the Majors with a 1.045 slugging percentage and a .630 on-base percentage and ranked second in the N.L. with eight runs and five doubles. Ethier is one of 12 Major Leaguers to have at least 20 home runs and 20 doubles. Ethier enters play today with a seven-game hitting streak, just three games shy of surpassing his season-high. The second-round pick in the 2003 First-Year Player Draft from Arizona State University is currently leading the Major League-best Dodgers (62-36, .633) with 20 homers and 62 RBI. This marks Andre's second weekly award of 2009 (previous: 4/20/09) and the third of his career (other: 9/8/08 with HOU's Roy Oswalt).
