FOX Sports North announced today, plans to partner with the Minnesota Twins and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities to host a Boys & Girls Club day on Wednesday, August 12 at the Metrodome. The telecast event will be televised with limited commercial breaks and will include a Boys & Girls Club themed pregame, in-game elements and special messages from the Boys & Girls Club throughout the broadcast as the Twins take on the Kansas City Royals.

Pregame festivities will include more than 100 kids on the field from the Boys & Girls Club. Special performances will be made by the Boys & Girls Club drum line and cheer squad. Other pregame elements will showcase members from the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) league and a public service announcement from Michael Cuddyer.

Throughout the game, FOX Sports North will highlight Major League Baseball (MLB) former Boys & Girls Club members, share testimonies of club kids who participate in the Twin Cities program and highlight the over 500 club kids in attendance at the game.

"The Twins are proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Club as we continue to support the healthy development of children and families through an association with baseball and softball," said Bryan Donaldson, director of community relations for the Twins.

The Boys & Girls Club focuses on enabling youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. The Boys & Girls Club of the Twins Cities is one of only a few local organizations dedicated specifically to youth development, and has done so for more than 75 years. The Boys & Girls Club of America has been the official charity of Major League Baseball, establishing more than 100 new RBI leagues, more than 200 Rookie Leagues and increased exposure for the Boys & Girls Club of America through MLB produced media public service campaigns.

FOX Sports North reaches more than 2 million homes throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and North and South Dakota and telecasts nearly 2,600 hours of locally produced programming per year. The Emmy Award-winning regional sports network provides comprehensive coverage of the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves, MLB's Minnesota Twins, the NHL's Minnesota Wild, the NFL's Minnesota Vikings, the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx as well as the University of Minnesota athletic events.
