Martín Prado of the Atlanta Braves Named the Bank of America Presents the National League Player of the Week
Atlanta Braves infielder Martín Prado has been named Bank of America Presents the National League Player of the Week for the
period of May 10-16, 2010. Bank of America, the Official Bank of Major League Baseball, is the presenting sponsor of the National League and
American League Player of the Week Awards, which reflect Bank of America's long-standing tradition of promoting and recognizing higher
standards of accomplishment.
Prado's three home runs and 11 hits this week were both tied for first in the National League, while his 11 RBI led the Majors. The 26-yearold
hit .367 (11-30) on the week, while slugging .667, recording a .387 on-base percentage and scoring four runs. On Monday, Prado belted the
first grand slam of his career in an 8-2 win at Milwaukee. His five RBI on the day also marked a career-best. On Friday, Prado delivered in the
clutch, hitting a game-winning, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Braves a 6-5 victory over visiting Arizona. He also played a
key role in Sunday's series finale against the D-backs, going 4-for-6 with two home runs en-route to a 13-1 victory. The multi-home run
performance marked another career-first for the Venezuelan-born slugger, and helped the Braves to their fifth win in six games this week. This is
Martín's second career NL Player of the Week Award, the first being for the period of June 29-July 5, 2009.

(.345, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 7 R); Florida's Gaby Sanchez (.367, 11 H, 2 HR), Dan Uggla (.333, 3 HR, 6 RBI) and Ricky Nolasco (2-0, 2.08 ERA);
Houston's Hunter Pence (.320, 3 HR, 7 RBI); and Chad Billingsley (2-0, 1.42 ERA, 13 SO), Jonathan Broxton (0.00, 4 SV, 8 SO) and Andre
Ethier (.444, 5 R, 6 RBI, 5 2B) of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
