The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Seattle Mariners Minor League pitcher Jose Mendoza has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for metabolites of Nandrolone, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Mendoza, who is currently on the club's Venezuelan Summer League roster, is effective immediately.
