The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Tampa Bay Rays Minor League catcher Marcos Torres has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for Methylhexaneamine, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Torres, who is currently on the roster of the Gulf Coast League (Rookie) Rays, will be effective immediately upon his return to the Active List.
